Cronulla Golf Club DJ Case Study: 'Golf Fore Her'
When you think of event DJing, you usually imagine a traditional function room, indoor staging, and wall sockets within easy reach. But at morlyfe entertainment, some of our favourite setups happen directly out in the element, right on the fairway.
Back in May, our lead DJ and Co-founder, Daniel, took to the greens at Cronulla Golf Club for a unique social activation: Golf Fore Her. Designed as an approachable, high-energy event for around 175 women, many holding a golf club for the very first time, the day brought together brand activations, artisanal pastries, custom cocktails, and an unbeatable soundtrack.
Here is a look behind the scenes at how we brought off-grid sound, high-energy entertainment, and dynamic aerial content to one of the Sutherland Shire’s premier golf venues.
Crafting the Atmosphere for Modern Social Activations
The brief for Golf Fore Her was clear: shatter the old stereotypes of stiff golf club functions and create a welcoming, vibrant, and stylish atmosphere.
With 175 attendees moving between brand stalls, cocktail stations, and golf clinics, the music needed to achieve two key things:

Maintain high energy across open space without overwhelming conversation.

Bridge the gap between sports and social gathering with smooth, open-format track selection.
Daniel crafted a seamless three-hour set that elevated the energy on the course, keeping the vibe relaxed during the morning welcome before transitioning into upbeat, summer-inspired tunes as the cocktails and golf swings started flowing.
Technical Spotlight: Complete Off-Grid DJ Production
Setting up an entire DJ production on an open golf green presents unique technical challenges, namely, zero access to standard venue wall power.
To deliver clean, uninterrupted audio right on the grass, Daniel deployed our mobile off-grid setup:

Power Source: Commercial ultra-silent inverter generator (delivering clean, whisper-quiet power with zero electrical noise bleed into the speakers).

DJ Controller: Pioneer DDJ-SX setup for fluid mixing and instant track navigation.

Sound Reinforcement: 2 x High-output Yamaha PA speakers positioned strategically to project sound across the fairway without distorting at distance.

Duration: 3 hours of continuous live audio and mixing.
By utilising a silent generator, we ensured the music was crisp, loud, and immersive, while the equipment itself remained practically invisible to the crowd's ears.

An event this dynamic needed to be captured from every angle. Our content team brought out drone gear to shoot stunning aerial content of the setup on the fairways, capturing the 175 participants enjoying the sun, drinks, and music.
